May 18 - Chris Gazdick - Discus

island discusSpecial Discounts on Pre-ordered Discus from Island Discus, click here.

Chris Gazdick, owner of Island Discus, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is a Long Island native and is happy to return to talk with us about the care and breeding of discus.

Chris’ fascination with discus was inherited from his grandfather, who told him of large, peaceful, and beautiful fish that were like no other.  Chris already had some experience with aquarium fish, but after visiting a local pet store with his grandpa, they left with a second tank and two discus, and as Chris says, “The addiction had begun …”  One discus tank turned into two and then four until Island Discus was born.  Today, Island Discus operates from Chris’ home, with over 35 tanks, 15 breeding pairs and 3,000+ gallons of water.  Chris specializes in healthy high grade rare discus and his goal is to help everyone appreciate them as much as he and his grandpa.

Discus are some of the most challenging and spectacularly beautiful aquarium fish. So don't miss this unusual opportunity to learn about them from one of the nation's top discus experts.
