Hello All!

Hard to believe that it is almost the end of summer. Hopefully everyone had a great one, even though it felt short. We do have three more months of nice weather coming for the fall. Looks like there will be very few hurricanes this year due to a super El Nino, so our fish are safe. Speaking of fish, it’s time for many clubs to come out of their summer hibernation and get rolling for the winter, including ours. Our last meeting in June was a great success with food, big raffle table, and an even bigger fish auction. Everyone went home happy with aquarium stuff and fish for the summer.

At the June meeting we also had our door prize and fish show. Harry won the door prize, which was our ceremonial LIAS gold rimmed glass stuffed with scratch off tickets. In the fish show Maxx won third with his Blue Platy. Second was Ed with his Gold Laser Cory. Ed also took first with his Blue Parrot. I am looking forward to seeing some of the fish from our outside tubs in the fish show at the next meeting on September 18th. Tub fish always have some great color from the sun and natural food. Make the fish show big for the September meeting!

I am working on some plans for our coming year. I will talk about them at the next meeting. I was too busy personally this summer to implement some of the plans I wanted to do. Maybe this fall they will happen with some help. The club is still quite strong and many manufacturers donated goods this coming year. When I send them pictures of our meetings, they are impressed that we have families and young adults in the club participating. Our younger members are the future of fish keeping and it’s great to see them at our meetings having fun and enthusiastic about fish.

Save the date for our first meeting on September 18th. Same times and same venue. Can’t wait to see everyone there. I will send out another email just before the meeting as a reminder. Bring fish for the Fish Show and Auction!!!
